Overview

For an international automotive manufacturer, VIVA has provided direction and/or operational assistance on an as-needed basis to the site business and process manager regarding issues that will/may affect the site planning and operational processes and procedures. Our work focuses on defining and reporting functional deficiencies, and/or issues found in Factory Planner (FP) and/or legacy interfaces to the Implementation Team, and developing workarounds, solutions, or alternatives to address the problem(s), resolve material/capacity and scheduling scenarios and work flow issues that arise in FP proposed plans. We also identify other business integration needs (i.e. applications to be replaced, identify process change requirements), translate business policies and planning requirements into application models, develop and validate functional/performance/systems integration test plans, and perform what-if analyses on material/capacity/scheduling functionalities to address user requirements from the planning/management community. We work with business lead to develop planning work flows, document modeling and planning specifications and lead training and user manual development.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute supply chain and factory solutions using i2 Factory Planner software
Identify and resolve Material/Capacity and Scheduling scenarios and workflow issues arising in FP proposed plans
Define and report functional deficiencies/issues found in i2 Factory Planner/ Legacy interfaces
Lead research and develop solutions and/or workarounds to business problems
Provide analytics to aid supply chain strategy
Articulate complex supply chain issues into comprehensible technical solutions for all levels
Perform lot-sizing, setup, and efficiency simulations to minimize cost, inventory, and to improve delivery performance
Apply APICS functional concepts for continuous improvements to the factory solutions and Six Sigma methodology in executing projects
Measure Point-of-Use material availability, perform root cause analysis, and develop permanent corrective actions
Conduct workshops and user trainings for the factory planner-based solutions
Create projects' status reports and present to management and key stakeholders
Maintain and support dashboard application used for measuring business performance
Provide reports used for statistical analysis, cost avoidance, and grief resolution
Provide subject matter expert on touch-screen production reporting system
Provide corporate expert for i2 Factory Planner and i2 Sequencer
Support SAP implementation activities such as data cleansing, process mapping, and functionality roll-out Technology skills used are i2 Factory Planner (TmAPI) Planning and Scheduling, i2 Sequencer for Assembly Line Slotting, Oracle database for data processing, storage and retrieval, Informatica for data transformation, MS Access for reporting, and Windows 2003 Server batch scripting for automating the solutions
