Hadoop / Big Data Platform Experience
Must Have Skills:
Experience with data projects – i.e. bringing data onto a big data platform such as Hadoop which requires identifying business requirements and oversight of end to end development and support of end users on the platform from a data product owner perspective.
Experience with big data platforms such as Hadoop, ETL tools, end user support.
IT Business Analyst
Lead manages teams and drives overall vision according to the team's goals. Works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems.
The Business Analyst
Lead understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals and overall business strategies.
Possess an expert level knowledge of the tools and processes required by the role Manage efforts affecting large-scale, highly complex, cross-functional/platform environments Typically spends majority of time providing direction across large teams at all levels but capable of solid individual performance when required Share knowledge, coach, and mentor others in area of expertise Ability to perform functions at all levels of a process Will serve as technical lead in area of expertise Will have duties instructing, directing, and checking the work of others Possess excellent communication and relationship skills Comfort ability with interfacing with ESI director level management for technical briefings, status reports, etc.
Perform analysis of business issues, provide recommendations for possible solutions, work with Business users and IT project teams to drive decision making and define requirements for application development, ensuring that business needs are being met Complete documentation for business requirements which guide application development efforts, working closely with the development team and business teams to ensure successful implementation of business requirements Assist with the development and maintenance of the business requirements process used to define requirements for systems projects, assist with the definition and negotiation of project scope and create appropriate scope documentation Analyze opportunities to improve application reliability, provide recommendations for possible solutions, and work with IT and Business partners to implement solutions that enhance application and infrastructure reliability Work with IT and Business partners to build support processes and procedures, provide ongoing support to manage application SLAs, resolve a majority of the problems and fulfill service requests that do not require application development Perform analysis of compliance vulnerabilities; work with IT and Business teams to eliminate vulnerabilities, support internal and external audit related activities. Communicate project status and escalates issues as needed
Over 7 years of experience in business analysis of product or software development Experience with development methodologies is highly desired Proven organizational skills with the ability to develop a detailed work plan to ensure project success Demonstrated ability to organize and facilitate large cross functional meetings Promote consensus on a high level view of the project and drill down into the details to obtain the requirements Perform thorough requirement interviews with project stakeholders Ability to document project issues, risks, assumptions and requirements Demonstrated problem solving skills Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues Ability to analyze and develop business scenarios and use cases Follow policies and procedures to ensure audit and corporate compliance Delivered project status consistently and time tracking regularly to management Demonstrated understanding of system design concepts Conducted comprehensive requirements reviews with project stakeholders, development and QA teams Created process flows and diagrams necessary to assist the requirements gathering process Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office expert level knowledge of Excel, working knowledge of Access In-depth knowledge of SQL preferred Working knowledge of SharePoint required
